Archangel Gabriel

Archangel Gabriel and Archangel Michael are usually depicted with a sword or scepter in their right hand, a symbol of their God-given authority. In the left hand they often hold a globe that symbolizes the world. Archangel Gabriel whose name means "God is my strength" is one of the few angels mentioned in the Bible.

The archangel Gabriel is the angel who appeared to the prophet Daniel, the wife of Manoe, and announced to her that she would give birth to Samson. To the priest Zacharias, how he will give birth to Saint John the Baptist. He was the one who fed the Virgin Mary with heavenly bread, in the Holy of Holies, but also the angel who brought the joyful message to the Virgin Mary about the birth of Jesus Christ. He calmed Joseph's fears. He presented himself to the shepherds. He also announced to Joseph to take Mary and the baby and leave for Egypt and after a while, return to the land of Israel.
