Saint John the Theologian

Saint John the Theologian is the Evangelist of love. Not only because he constantly refers to love in his writings, but mainly because he experienced it and expressed it. He proved his love for Jesus by following him even in the most difficult hours of His earthly life. He was present at His arrest, at the trial and at Calvary, where under the Cross Christ entrusted His mother.

And he honored the Lord's wish and until her Dormition he cared for her as his true mother. Together with his brother James and Peter, they formed the trio of disciples that Christ had with him at the resurrection of Jairus' daughter, on Mount Tabor, where he was "transfigured before them", as well as at Gethsemane, where he prayed before his passion .

John is the author of the 4th Gospel in order in the New Testament, the most theological of all and considered as the Gospel of love, as well as three Catholic Epistles and the Apocalypse.

Orthodox Church celebrates his memory on September 26
